The Korea Startup Forum announced on the 17th that it successfully held the practical IR program 'KSF IR Day with the British Embassy' the day before at the Aston Hall of the British Embassy in Korea, supporting promising domestic deep tech startups' entry into the European market.

This event was conducted as a pre-program for COMEUP 2025. It introduced a practical IR program that secures the global network of COMEUP for the European market while enhancing the overseas expansion capabilities of domestic deep tech startups and providing practical contact with the European market. The Korea Startup Forum established an official exchange channel with the British Embassy in Korea and the UK Department for International Trade through this event.

A total of 77 startup teams in advanced technology fields such as AI, robotics, and healthcare applied for the preliminary recruitment to select 6 companies to participate in the IR pitching, recording a competition ratio of about 13:1. Among them, the selected outstanding candidates were △Mediology △Sevenpointone △Cubic △Aetech △Studio Galilee △Portrey, who presented on-site. They introduced their respective technological capabilities and global expansion strategies, and all presentations were conducted in English, demonstrating their global communication skills and ability to respond to overseas markets.

The judging panel, consisting of Seokhun Noh from GoodThings, Jonghan Park from SparkLabs, and Taekyu Lee from our Venture Partners, comprehensively evaluated the feasibility of entering the UK market, global scalability of the business model, technological differentiation, and feasibility. The judges provided specific feedback and practical advice based on their experience in entering the European market regarding each company's presentation.

Support for exhibition booths in 2025, participation in 'London Tech Week 2026', and business matching opportunities with local investors and partner organizations in the UK will be provided. A one-year free membership benefit will also be offered to all 6 companies in the Korea Startup Forum.

Choi Ji-young, Executive Director of the Korea Startup Forum, stated, "The global expansion of startups is a key strategy for survival and growth," and added, "It was meaningful to have the opportunity to discover outstanding South Korean innovative resources and expand into the world together with the British government. We will actively support our startups to create business opportunities in major global markets through various practical programs led by COMEUP."

Tony Clemsen, Senior Trade Commissioner at the British Embassy in Korea, mentioned, "The UK has the largest startup ecosystem in Europe and the third largest in the world, with a value of over $1.1 trillion, more than 150 unicorns, and over 25,000 investment-attracting startups, offering excellent opportunities in terms of capital, talent, and access to global markets," and added, "I hope that Korea and the UK can jointly lead next-generation technological innovations through meaningful cooperation in deep tech fields such as AI and quantum technology with innovative startups."
