Aetech Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Tae-hyung) announced that on the 17th, its waste sorting AI robot 'Atron' was designated as the first innovative product for 2024 announced by the Public Procurement Service.
The innovative products of the Public Procurement Service refer to products that have been recognized for their innovativeness according to the standards and procedures established by the Commissioner of the Public Procurement Service in consultation with the Minister of Economy and Finance, among commercialized trial products. It designates products that require support for securing initial sales routes and commercialization, and reviews their publicness and innovativeness to promote public service enhancement and technological innovation.
At the award ceremony held at the Seoul Regional Public Procurement Service on the 17th, CEO Park Tae-hyung of A-Tech Co., Ltd. attended and received the certificate of designation for the first innovative trial product for 2024.
A-Tech Co., Ltd. is a startup that provides an automation solution for domestic recycling sorting facilities through its waste sorting AI robot 'Atron'. With this innovative trial product designation, they are expected to register Atron information on the Public Procurement Service's innovation market exclusive mall to secure new sales routes.
As a result, they will be able to participate in public procurement contracts with government agencies for three years. In addition, if local governments and other supply-demand organizations that are selected for pilot procurement projects wish to purchase Atron with the budget of the Public Procurement Service's pilot procurement project or their own budget, they can also do so through the exclusive mall.
An official from A-Tech Co., Ltd. stated, "The Public Procurement Service's designation of this innovative trial product acknowledges A-Tech's technological capabilities in AI and robot manufacturing." They also emphasized, "Opening up new sales routes through public agencies using the Public Procurement Service's innovation product exclusive mall, as well as significantly contributing to improving the distribution rate of Atron, will greatly contribute to improving the recycling rate."
Meanwhile, A-Tech Co., Ltd. has achieved a cumulative sales record of 11 units by 2023, becoming the first in Korea to complete commercialization. This year, they are in the process of deploying a dual Atron at a testbed support project in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and planning to operate a pilot unmanned robot resource recovery center solely operated by Atron in Geongseo-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon in the latter half of the year.
