What kind of company is Aetech?
Aetech is a company that automates waste sorting using AI and robot technology, developing the AI sorting robot Atron and the AI robot-based unmanned sorting facility Airo-mrf. Currently, we are focusing on domestic waste recycling, with the goal of smartening the resource circulation value chain across all waste sectors, including construction, marine, and industrial waste. Our headquarters is located in the Startup/Venture Green Convergence Cluster in Seo-gu, Incheon.
When was Aetech founded, and how long did the development take?
Aetech was established on May 28, 2020, and was founded at the Environmental Industry Research Complex (now the Green Convergence Cluster) operated by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute under the Ministry of Environment. The development of Atron took about 2 years and 2 months from February 2020 to April 2022.
Is there any evidence that Aetech directly develops AI and robots?
Aetech directly develops and manufactures everything from data collection, processing, and learning, to AI algorithms, robot control software and integration APIs, and robot components including vacuum generators and end effectors. Evidence of this includes our designation as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service (No. 2024-017, April 2024 to April 2027), industrial robot KCs self-safety confirmation declaration, 5 performance test reports from certified testing laboratories (December 2020 to December 2025), and recognition as an enterprise-affiliated research institute.
Does Aetech have a history of cooperating with government agencies?
Aetech has been cooperating with the Korea Environment Corporation and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute under the Ministry of Environment. We received support during the initial database construction phase of the business, and in 2022, we participated as a demand enterprise in the public waste data collection project conducted with the Korea Environment Corporation. The founding itself also started in the largest environmental industry cluster in Korea operated by an institution under the Ministry of Environment.
Can Aetech's waste sorting equipment be introduced through the purchase-conditioned new product development project?
Aetech's waste sorting facilities tailored to demanding organizations can be jointly developed and introduced as a Purchase-conditioned New Product Development Program. Through this system, Aetech has developed "Multitron," an automated waste separation solution for small-scale recycling waste treatment plants such as apartment complexes. The Purchase-conditioned New Product Development Program is a system where demanding organizations support development on the premise of purchase.
